As a part of its Virtuoso Series Libby Gardner Concert Hall welcomes Seattle native Simone Porter, a 15 year old violin virtuoso. Although she is only 15 years old, Simone Porter is already a world class musician. This violin prodigy made her solo orchestral debut at age 8 and later won an Emmy because of her performance on the nationally syndicated program From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall. In 2008 at age 11 she was featured as a soloist with the Northern Sinfonia, one of Europe’s top chamber orchestras in the documentary “The World’s Greatest Musical Prodigies.” She has since soloed with such top orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic in London. In addition she opened a ceremony honoring the Dalai Lama for an audience of 55,000 in Seattle.
