Maxey has been playing music since 1997. In that time he has performed at venues across the western United States. He is the lead guitarist for the band Misfit Toys, and bassist for Telluride Meltdown. Maxey has performed with bands such as Great American Taxi, Eric Mcfadden, Tony Holliday & The Velvetones, Marinade, The Sister Wives, Christine Lavin, Kate Mccloead, and Marv Hamilton among others.
