RawMoves: Co$t of Living, Quality of Life

Nick Cendese and Natosha Washington started their dance company RawMoves in 2004. Since then, they’ve worked hard to create a style and aesthetic that is fresh, visceral and authentic—in short, raw. Their new evening-length performance, Co$t of Living, Quality of Life, is based in the commonality of everyday life and everyday objects—especially how charged such seemingly mundane and banal elements can indeed be.

“In addition to having real emotions and experiences in mind while creating and crafting this show,” Cendese says, “we spent hours and hours of rehearsal talking with the dancers about how to make each movement deliberate and honest.
