Wolf Gang

It’s partly due to his parents, who exposed him to everything from Talking Heads to Irish rebel songs, from Senegalese folk to jazz; it’s partly due to his dedication to learning—no, mastering—a plethora of instruments (guitar, bass, piano and keyboards, glockenspiel and assorted others); and it’s partly because of a vivid dream he had. It all led Max McElligott to produce Suego Faults, an eclectic pop album that offers a grandiose, near-symphonic panache well beyond his 24 years. Now, as Wolf Gang, and backed by a gaggle of other English musicians, McElligott has been turning heads for two years, with Suego Faults and at gigs supporting big-name bands like Coldplay, Florence + The Machine, The Killers, Miike Snow, Metric and The Naked & Famous. The Royal Concept and Frank + Derol open.
