When Mandy Moore sang “Only Hope” in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ A Walk To Remember, Switchfoot’s original version of the song soon blasted out the windows of swooning high school girls. After the film’s debut, the Christian rock band’s tunes hopped from Christian radio to mainstream radio. Since, Switchfoot has added five albums and, in the process, added two new members to create a more bombastic sound, which was recognized in 2011 with the Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album. Camera crews are following the band on this tour to film Fading West, a documentary about their music and their love of surfing to be released in 2013. Paper Route starts things off. (Frances Moody)
