Celebrate the City

Get ready to celebrate Salt Lake City retro 1960s style! Wear your go-go boots, bring your dancing moves and join in the fun as Salt Lake City pays tribute to the old Public Library building (now home of The Leonardo) and the era it was built. Entrance to The Leonardo is free of charge. See new exhibits as well as the iconic architectural features and Doug Snow mural that define the building that opened to library patrons in 1964. Activities and entertainment on the plaza include retro 60s dance and costume contests, retro 60s bands, vintage cars, catalogue card art, comics, community writing workshops and more. The goal of the event is to help create awareness about preservation of historic buildings and sites in Salt Lake City. Celebrate the City is brought to you by the Salt Lake City Mayor's Office.
