With songs recorded from his makeshift bedroom
studio and modestly posted
on his MySpace page, Ernest Greene unintentionally entered into the blog world as a shooting star. Taking on the alias Washed Out, the electronic artist recorded two EPs shortly after he was discovered. Greene finally got his big break when his song “Feel It All Around,” was selected as the theme song for the comedy show Portlandia. In 2011, he recorded his first full-length album, Within & Without (produced by Ben Allen), which was released on Sub Pop. (Frances Moody)
