“Got Afro?” asks the sticker on Andy Frasco’s keyboard. It might not be as fierce as Beyonce’s milk mustache, but Frasco’s ’fro sure has some sass. Those curly, brown locks mop the air as he plays the keys with full-body strokes, evoking “party blues with a touch of barefoot boogie” (his description). I’m sure even the long-haired Joe Walsh was envious of those curls when Frasco opened for him at Gallivan Center in August—just one of the many recent stops during the Los Angeles-based band’s relentless touring schedule. Paying their dues has paid off.
