“Islands in the Desert,” is being featured at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. “Islands in the Desert,” is a colorful and heart racing program that features Pacific Islander Music and Pacific Islander Dance by local Utah artists who carry their family tradition, island, and legacy. Performing will be Ngati Hiona, a skillful dance that involves twirling Poi dance, also the Tausala, a Samoan-based group whom bring the attention to grace, beauty and excitement of the Samoan dance. Then last the Island Traditions, which focuses on the Polynesian people who live on the islands that include some of the most beautiful dances including Tahiti, Samoa and Tonga.
