Scotsman Ian Anderson is a Renaissance man. The Jethro Tull frontman can play instruments ranging from the saxophone to the electric guitar and, of course, his signature music-making tool: the rock & roll flute. His solo career has been colorful, and his most recent album, Thick as a Brick 2, is a continuation of the Jethro Tull album Thick as a Brick, which told the story of fictional 8-year-old genius Gerald Bostock. Thick as a Brick 2 visits Bostock’s life 40 years after the first album and offers five hypothetical stories explaining where the boy genius may have ended up. (Frances Moody)
