Indie roots singer/songwriter and Utah darling Dia Frampton has grown from a local artist—playing with her sister in Meg & Dia—to a full-blown star after she was runner-up on The Voice in 2011. Her bubbly style makes for upbeat, feel-good music with sing-along-able lyrics, as heard on her debut album, Red. Frampton is a consummate writer, be it in song, blogs (DiaFrampton.blogspot.com) or children’s books. And when her tour stops in Salt Lake City, she’ll probably put down the pen in exchange for a frozen treat at Nielsen’s Frozen Custard, her favorite spot in Utah. (Savannah Turk)
