Wasatch Back Student Art Show

The theme of this year’s Wasatch Back Student Art Show is “Everyday Art,” and the purpose of said theme was to create “an awareness of design elements found in everyday objects or happenings.” Student artists were charged with creating artwork incorporating everyday objects, highlighting visual characteristics of daily life. Artwork will be displayed in the Kimball Art Center’s Main, Garage and Badami galleries.

Justin Pok, winner of the Battle of Badami competition for his organic and contemporary sculptures of aluminum mesh, will be featured in the Badami Gallery. Pok’s show—titled Light—allows for various patterns of light to be explored through different patterns of aluminum mesh (pictured). Other student artists whose work will be on display during the exhibit include R. Nelson Parrish with Color/Fast in the Main Gallery and Corinne Geertsen with Freudian Hip in the Garage Gallery.
