Star Wars Group Show

Blonde Grizzly celebrated its grand re-opening May 5 with works by New York artist Tara McPherson, dubbed “the crown princess of poster art” by Elle Magazine. The gallery is taking over the space of L. Lorenz knife shop, whose previous space was taken by House Gallery. After the local gallery version of musical chairs is over, the question of cutlery remains, but one of the local fave art spots takes its place on Broadway.

Following up on Star Wars Day, May 4 (“May the fourth be with you”), on May 18, Blonde Grizzly opened one of its most popular shows of work with the movie as its theme. You don’t have to be able to do the Kessel run in 12 parsecs to enjoy depictions of Ewoks, Imperial Stormtroopers, an imperiled Princess Leia and maybe even Lord Vader himself, lovingly rendered by more than 30 local artists.
