As far as a spokesman for motivation, survival and outdoor safety goes, you can’t get much better than Aron Ralston. The man who cut off his arm to save his life after falling into a crevice and finding himself literally trapped between a rock and a hard place—the title of his biography that described the experience—has become an inspiration to many.
Since his now-famous ordeal, he’s continued to climb mountains and become a highly sought-after motivational speaker. In conjunction with the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance, Ralston will appear at Peery’s Egyptian Theater on June 13 to sign autographs and tell his story, with a screening of the Oscar-nominated film it inspired, 127 Hours, the next night, June 14, for only $5. Both nights have limited seating, so get your tickets early. (Trevor Hale)
