Bon Iver

The last time Bon Iver—the product of savvy Justin Vernon—stopped in Salt Lake City, it was to play the Twilight Concert Series at Gallivan Center. People were packed in to hear hits from For Emma, Forever Ago. In the three-year span since that debut, Vernon has, yes, remained rooted in acoustic folk, but what creates the great artistic chasm between that and his self-titled sophomore effort released in 2011 is his unbound creative experimentation. A risky move indeed, Vernon was rewarded with praise near and far in 2011. Listeners will also be rewarded in concert with Vernon’s now-diverse sonic meanderings. The Staves open the show.
