The smokey Norwegian songstress Ane Brun’s piano pop melds together elements of Fiona Apple, Björk and Sarah McLachlan. That recipe has seen her go platinum in her home country. Aided by studio help from José González and First Aid Kit, Brun’s It All Starts With One, which was released May 1 in the United States, won her the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy. And the U.S. release comes on the tail of her five-song digital EP, Do You Remember, which includes gorgeous renderings of Built to Spill, Mercedes Sosa and Antony & the Johnsons tunes. Gemma Ray is also on the bill.
