When listening to the 2012 release The End of That, the standout aspect is Plants & Animals vocalist Warren Spicer’s timing. The cadence and bounce of his wordy lyrics that unfold in a way often lacking the backbone of meaty choruses are his forte. But the Montreal-based “post-classic rock” trio’s other members show confidence without flashiness on lead single “Lightshow” and throughout the rock & roll meditations on growing older and still partying hard within “The End of That,” “Crisis!” and “No Idea.”
