Rusted Root

I caught Rusted Root for the first and only time just after Welcome to My Party (2002) was released in what I distinctly remember as a farewell tour—but, these things are rarely set in stone. Seven years later, the Michael Glabicki-led roots collective re-emerged with Stereo Rodeo. While the album fell somewhat flat, it is an apt descriptor to the band’s worldly, sonic meanderings—highly percussive acoustic/electric jams with Latin and African leanings. And, purportedly, a soon-to-be released full-length, Fortunate Freaks, has the band returning to a familiar, favorite sound of Rootheads, like that on “Cruel Sun” and “Send Me on My Way.” Skinny Lister and Marinade will also play.
