Weller Books Works Celebrates Everett Ruess’ Birth Month with Full Line of Licensed Merchandise. When graphic designer and business owner Steve Jerman heard that Sam Weller's books was moving to Trolley Square, he knew it would be the perfect place for the store to expand beyond selling books and add other products.
Jerman approached the store with the idea of a pop-up shop – a temporary retail offering – featuring a variety of merchandise authorized by the heirs of Everett Ruess. Weller's had been successfully selling some of the line for several years. Now shoppers can find the entire range of merchandise in one place for a short time.
Everett Ruess was a young 20-year old poet artist who disappeared near Escalante, Utah. never to be found. This year marks his 98th birthday. The shop at Weller Book Works includes reproductions of Everett's famous block prints as well as clothing and other gifts and merchandise appealing to the “Patron Saint of the Redrock Wilderness”, a term coined by naturalist writer Terry Tempest Williams.
