Les Femmes de Velour 2

For those (women) about to rock, we salute you! That’s essentially the AC/DC-esque thought behind this reincarnated event that first happened in the mid-’90s at the Utah County club Wrapsody. Young ladies might be more appropriate than “women,” though; outside of a few fellows from Fictionist backing up Jennifer Blosil, there isn’t anyone over 20 who’s performing at this two-night event. The Friday night “femmes” include Bus People, Kenzie James & the Knockouts, Moriah Glazier and Blue Aces, which features Kyle Henderson’s (Desert Noises) younger sister, Katie Henderson. And Saturday boasts an amazing array of talent, including the 13-year-old Faith Johnson, Julianne Brough, Emily Brown (Book on Tape Worm) and the aforementioned Blosil. Velour, 135 N.
