Bonobo

Producer Simon Green—Bonobo—is giving critics and fans a second chance to rave about his 2010 electronic masterpiece Black Sands. The soundsmith will release Black Sands Remixed on Feb. 21, offering a fresh reworking by some illustrious guest producers on several of the album’s best tracks—including numerous (too many) renditions of “Eyesdown,” although that is arguably one of the best electronic singles of the past decade. To the rescue—and to sate fans longing for new Bonobo material—Black Sands Remixed offers two nearly new, intricately layered tracks that didn’t make the original cut, “Brace Brace” and “Ghost Ship”—the former is bass-heavy and brassy, the latter is funky and soulful.
