Richard was born August 25th 1940 in Salt Lake City Utah. He grew up learning how to bale hay and butcher meat. He described his childhood as normal. Passey wanted to expand the techniques and possibilities of the leather-crafting field in hopes of elevating the craftman’s status from “smith” or “peddler” to “artist”. He passed away in 2011; this exhibit is a memorial.
An opening reception will be held on Friday February 3, 2012 from 6 – 9 p.m. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Monday - Thursday and 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., Friday. Exhibits are free to the public.
