The Oak Ridge Boys

For all the hopeless nostalgics out there, here’s a band that will take you back to simpler times, when the West was free and country music was the genre of the day. The Oak Ridge Boys first formed in the ’40s in Knoxville, Tenn., and they’ve been gracing listeners with their old-time country gospel for decades, with more than 30 million records sold. These days, their sound tends toward mainstream country-pop, and the band boasts joint recordings with some of the greats, including Johnny Cash. So bust out that 10-gallon hat and get down to Provo for some country-music history in the making. (Kelsey Leach) Thursday 2.9 @ Covey Center for the Arts, 425 W. Center St., Provo, 8 p.m., $45-$100
