If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Paris, step through the bright blue doors of Eva’s Bakery, a traditional French boulangerie located in downtown Salt Lake City. Charlie Perry opened the cheery space in honor of his great-grandmother, who passed along her passion for cooking to Perry—and that passion shows. All of the beautiful baguettes, pastries and other delectable baked goods in the downtown bakery are made with organic, locally sourced flour, with time-tested French baking techniques. For breakfast, try the brunch pie, with ham, béchamel, Gruyère and arugula. For lunch or an early dinner, comfort food like the savory bread pudding, wild-mushroom croque and carbonara mac & cheese will fill you up and warm your soul.
