End of Days?

That was a fun article by Jim Catano about the coming end times [“Act Now!” May 5, City Weekly]. These predictions go way back, and Jesus told his audience that some of them would live to see the kingdom of God (Mark 9:1; Luke 9:27, 21:32; Matthew 16:27-28).

But just because Christ erred so badly doesn’t mean everybody will. The Mayans could be right about 2012 being the end, so I will hold off mocking them until a year or two later.

I always enjoy City Weekly's Hits & Misses column, and this week's version [Dec. 4, City Weekly], was no exception. Unfortunately, the Rocky III segment, while a nice complement to John Saltas' piece ["Mayor Maybe"], is wildly inaccurate.
