Nothing’s better than fresh produce—unless it’s reasonably priced fresh produce. It’s time again for the Downtown Farmers Market—the local growers’ showcase where fresh produce from more than 80 Utah farms can be smelled, tasted and otherwise enjoyed. Set up in Pioneer Park, the market offers abundant veggies and fruits, fresh baked breads and pastries, cheeses, meats and seafood, jams and honeys, as well as live plants for the home and garden (in June, strawberries, lettuce, onions and carrots are in season). Unique food vendors are another enticing part of the Market, providing specialty foods and beverages to make your market stroll that more satisfying.
New this year is the Harvest Market: For those who can’t make it on Saturday, the freshness of Utah’s farms will continue Tuesday evenings in Pioneer Park starting in August and will run
through September and October. For more
information—or if you would like to receive Fresh
Peaches, the Farmers Market newsletter twice
monthly to your e-mail inbox—visit DowntownSLC.org/newsletter.htm.
