This week, there are plenty of opportunities for the active activist to strive toward creating education better. On Thursday, you can help raise awareness of new clean-air standards that could go a long way toward de-gunking the air in the Wasatch Front, and also educate yourself about the proposed Salt Lake County budget. On Wednesday, you won’t want to miss the Legislature’s Education Task Force continuing to try to strive to improve public education in the state.
A Critical Clean Air Campaign:
Tier 3 Standards
Thursday, June 20
The enviro-crusaders of HEAL Utah are hosting a community night to rally support for getting Utah leaders to adopt a new set of clean-air standards defined by the Environmental Protection Agency. If Utah decided to adopt the new standards, it would lower the sulfur content in gasoline by two-thirds and require new pollution-control technology, like bigger catalytic converters in cars. If you want Utah to clean up its act—and its air—come to this event and learn more about the new standards.
