Fashionable Bakery
On April 19, Corner Bakery Café opened at Fashion Place Mall with Murray Mayor Daniel Snarr in attendance. Corner Bakery Café specializes in fresh salads, sandwiches, paninis, pastas and soups. In addition to the new Fashion Place location, Corner Bakery Café is also located at Red Butte Creek (610 S. Foothill Blvd.). Find them online at CornerBakeryCafe.com.

Crazy Chile
Described as serving “truly authentic Mexican food,” Crazy Chile Pepper has opened in Salt Lake City at 1051 S. 300 West. Stop in for tacos, burritos and other Mexican specialties; there’s plenty of free parking. Phone them at 801-532-3005.

Ogden Spuds
Brixton’s Baked Potatoes
has opened at 2356 Keisel Ave. in Ogden (at the Junction). If you’re bored with just sour cream, butter, chives and Bac-Os on your spuds, give these a try. The potatoes come traditionally baked, sliced or mashed, with toppings such as Texas chili, pulled pork, chili verde, Hawaiian barbecue, meatball marinara, pot roast or veggie delite. And, according to owner Jonathan Wright, yes, you also can get your potato “just baked”—an Idaho Russet potato with butter, sour cream and chives. Sorry, no Bac-Os. For more information, phone 801-827-0222.

Halibut’s Here
Gastronomy Inc’s Market Street restaurants are currently up to the gills, literally, in halibut. It’s spring halibut festival time, and all Market Street Grill, Broiler and Oyster Bar locations are serving fresh, wild, sustainable Alaskan halibut for lunch and dinner (and even breakfast at the downtown Market Street Grill). Featured menu items include halibut Oscar, seafood Florentine, halibut Caesar salad, halibut Louie, halibut stuffed with Maryland crab and halibut fish & chips. For more information and Market Street locations, visit GINC.com.

Quote of the week: We’re serious but not solemn about potatoes here. The potato has lots of eyes, but no mouth. That’s where I come in. —E. Thomas Hughes, Founder, Potato Museum, Washington, D.C.
