The courtroom is an arena for not only people but also ideas to go toe to toe. Many greenies hoped the trial of Tim DeChristopher would be an opportunity to put America’s oil and gas industries on trial. However, DeChristopher’s defense could not bring in their issues, so Peaceful Uprising will be holding its own climate trial. After the trial, grasp the opportunity to shop an Indian market to benefit schools in India as well as a celebration and fundraiser for Tree Utah’s 20th anniversary.

The Climate Trial
Friday, Nov. 5

With the trial of grass-roots folk hero Tim DeChristopher continually pushed back, the folks of DeChristopher’s Peaceful Uprising have decided to hold court in the public square. With a street-theater performance, Peaceful Uprising will attempt to defend DeChristopher’s sabotage in the name of the environment—the kind of defense the federal courts have denied DeChristopher for his actual trial.

Marketplace of India
Saturday, Nov. 6

The American Endowment for Education in India is raising money to further English education for impoverished youth in India. To help that effort, they’re calling those who love all things India to attend a weekend market featuring Indian clothes, artisan crafts, cookbooks, henna tattoos and tasty Indian food. Entrance fees are $10 for adults and $7 for children.
