Chocoholics Unite!
On Thursday, Nov. 14, Caputo’s (314 W. 300 South) will host its second-annual Chocolate Festival, this year featuring Colorado-based Ritual Chocolate, a small-batch, craft chocolate company. According to Caputo’s, Ritual’s four single-origin chocolate bars “skyrocketed Ritual to the top of the fine-chocolate world.” Local chefs Viet Pham (Forage), Ryan Lowder (Copper Onion), Carter Light and Serge Smith (Silver) and Leslie Seggar (Tulie Bakery) will create four sweet and savory chocolate creations featuring Ritual chocolates from Costa Rica, Belize, Ecuador and Madagascar. Paired beverages from High West Distillery, Epic Brewery, Charming Beard Coffee and Libation Inc. will also be available. The cost for the evening is $25 per person, plus $10 for the optional beverage pairings. Purchase tickets by calling 801-531-8669 or go to tinyurl.com/k4hjvnz.

Vosen’s Relocates
Vosen’s Bread Paradise has moved one block west from its original location—from one 100-year-old building to another. The new address is 328 W. 200 South, in the Westgate Lofts. According to Vosen’s, the new space allows for customer seating, deli items, European grocery imports and some new baked goods such as bagels. There’s also a new Vosen’s creation called the croi-liner, a “mash-up of the croissant and Berliner” (a German jelly-filled doughnut). Visit Vosen.com for more information.

Downtown Winter Market
The Downtown Winter Market—a joint collaboration involving the Downtown Alliance, teamed with city and state leaders—returns beginning Saturday, Nov. 9. According to the Downtown Alliance, “A public market has been a priority for Mayor Ralph Becker and is called for by the 2007 Downtown Rising plan.” The market will be held bi-weekly on Saturdays through April 24 at the Rio Grande Depot (300 W. South Temple) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Winter Market will highlight local produce and products, including salsas, meats, jams, honeys, farm-fresh eggs and much more. Visit SLCFarmersMarket.org for more information.
