Let me get this straight: a race of people with seeds at the base of their skulls so that they can regrow after death? You’ve got my attention, and I want to hear more.

Brandon Mull, a local writer and New York Times bestselling author of the Fablehaven series, is at it again with his new trilogy, Beyonders. Book one, A World Without Heroes, has got it all: wizards, dragons, castles, a lake upon which nothing will float, meeting new friends in different worlds and trying to find a way home.

Mull has spent more than 10 years working on this story, and it’s sure not to disappoint. With a cast of characters and creatures that you’ve only seen in dreams, Mull changes up the familiar genre elements and creates an entire existence that readers can envelop themselves in and won’t want to escape.
