200 Years of Darwin

by Hattie MacLeod
Posted // 2009-09-04 - For 150 years, Darwin's monumental theory of evolution has, not only tested age-old beliefs on why and how we exist, but has acted as inspiration for everything from local beer to bumper sticker campaigns. To celebrate Darwin's 200th birthday and keep the debate alive, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute provides two new classes this fall. The classes, designed for those 50 and over, explore Darwin's theories and how they impact our lives today. "Darwin's Footsteps: Evolutionary Biology in the 21st Century" begins Sept. 16. and "Cosmic Evolution: Astrophysics from the Big Bang and Today" begins Sept. 17. To register, call (801)585-5442 or visit www.osher.utah.edu.
