Close your office door, dim the lights and light up a cigarette—Fiona Apple's upcoming album is streaming in its entirety on NPR.org.
Apple's been releasing bits and pieces of info about her new album and tour since, oh, February, on her Facebook page. Last week, it was the music video for first single, "Every Single Night," off the upcoming June 19 release of The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do. I haven't actually watched it yet since I've been busy spending time with family and running in a 10K race (Fiona Apple AND moody teenage Rachel are both shaking their heads at this) but since the sample image shows Apple with an octopus on her head, I'm sold.
I haven't listened to the album yet, either, but I'm queuing it up now. I hope it lives up to the expectations of moody teenage Rachel. Here's the link to the stream.
If it lives up to your expectations, you can join me and a pre-show bottle of wine at Apple's July 21 concert at Kingsbury Hall.
