F'n February enters with a frigid kick to the crotch, but there are some shows in town tonight sure to warm your jaded, frozen hearts.---

At The Depot Tuesday night, former schoolteacher Amos Lee (pictured) continues his journey as an increasingly interesting musician with a headlining gig supporting his new album, Mission Bell, that he recorded at the Calexico compound in Tucson. Hopefully the increased diversity of his sound translates live.%uFFFD

Over at In The Venue, teen-poppers Plain White T's are similarly trying to evolve sonically, away from their old Warped Tour, pop-punk roots into something more expansive. It worked with the acoustic-tinged monster hit "Hey There Delilah" a few years back. Let's see if the live show has moved beyond adolescence.%uFFFD

The Urban Lounge Tuesday features the gonzo blend of Southern rock, hip-hop and country courtesy of Georgia crew Rehab, who are boldly going where only Kid Rock has gone successfully before.

And finally, musical theater fans will want to check in at Kingsbury Hall tonight for An Evening with Stephen Sondheim, when the legendary songwriter will have a one-on-one chat with longtime Salt Lake Tribune theater critic Nancy Melich. Should be an intriguing look into the man's career.
