Utah Arts Fest announces Summer Solstice Concert

by Dan Nailen

Kitschy pop-rockers Cake will headline the Utah Arts Festival's annual Summer Solstice Concert this year.

A familiar face to Utahns for their many past visits, including packing the joint at the Ice House back during the 2002 Winter Olympics, Cake is a good genre-defying choice, thanks to hits like "The Distance," "Italian Leather Sofa" and "Frank Sinatra." And if the weather is better than during last year's Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band show, it should make for some summery fun. Cake's most recent album, Motorcade of Curiosity, was released last year.

For an online publication with facts at your fingertips you certainly failed at sounding like you know anything about this band.

Cakes first album was Motorcade of GENEROSITY, and their latest compilation album, B-Sides and Rarities, was released in 2007.

I am sure, based on this article, that we won't see you there Dan.
