Winter Clothing Drive to Help Refugees Runs Until Oct. 26

Adjusting to the winter chill in the morning is a pain for all Utahns, but for recently resettled refugees in Salt Lake Valley, a Utah winter can be a bone-numbingly unpleasant surprise. Help out this year by contributing to the International Rescue Committee’s winter clothing drive.

The IRC in Utah helps refugees from around the world settle into Utah with assistance in employment, education and housing. As many as 450 refugees every year from countries ranging from Cuba to Somalia settle in Salt Lake Valley ,and this month you can donate to help with the IRC’s Warm Welcome Winter Clothing Drive.

Just drop off new or gently used, coats, jackets, snow pants, scarves, gloves and other winter clothes from now until Oct. 26 at the IRC Office, 231 E. 400 South, Suite 50.

For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities, visit the IRC website or call 801-883-8457 or e-mail Sarah.Calicutt@rescue.org
