Posted // 2012-10-03 - A little technological wizardry will allow folks to watch President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney share a stage with third-party candidates including former SLC Mayor Rocky Anderson of the Justice Party and the Green Party’s Jill Stein.
While Romney and Obama meet in Denver for some rhetorical fisticuffs, third-party candidates have, not surprisingly, been shut out form the debate. Now, thanks to Democracy Now!, third-party candidates Anderson and Stein will take part in their own satellite debate at the Central Presbyterian Church in Denver, Colo.
A screen will project the mainstream candidates’ answers to questions on domestic policy, after which their debate will be paused while Anderson and Stein can throw in their own answers to questions of economy, development, taxes and other critical issues that American voters deserve to hear a more than just two interpretations of.
Check out the debate streaming live on Democracy Now!’s site here. The first debate begins tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 7 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
I am so excited that Democracy Now is hosting this presidential debate with Rocky Anderson and Jill Stein. Third party advocates deserve to hear their presidential choices respond to the same questions given to Obama and Romney.
I decided months ago that Ross C. "Rocky" Anderson would be receiving my vote. His experience in politics, human rights and Constitutional law make him the ideal candidate. That is why the duopoly worked so hard to shut out Anderson, along with the other candidates. The duopoly is not addressing the underlying problem that is destroying our country. . . the over inflated military budget. The USA will eventually follow Great Britian and Rome in the demise.
Gary Johnson was invited to participate in tonight's event, however declined due to previous commitment. He will be included in another third party debate on October 23rd held by The Free and Equal Elections Foundation. www. freeandequal. org
What about Gov Gary Johnson. He is the only "3rd" party candidate that is acutally on all 50 states' ballots. And he's the most logical and qualified to be president, IMO. He will be doing a live commentary on tongihts debate if anyone is interested.
