The Women’s World Health Initiative is hosting a benefit concert and fundraiser Saturday in Salt Lake City for its charitable work with mothers and children in the African nation of Senegal.
Acclaimed artist Boye will join an African children’s choir and a drumming group in Saturday’s concert that will raise money for WWHI’s important work in Senegal. The WWHI currently has a number of projects ongoing in Senegal including maintaining a women’s cooperative-type organization, providing medical supplies to community health-care workers and collecting health data on anemia in the country.
The concert Saturday is a local opportunity to make a difference half a world away. Participants can purchase VIP tickets for $75 that includes special seating, a cocktail hour and a chance to meet Boye. General admission tickets are only $15. For more information, visit the WWHI site here.
