Since 2009, the Fraud College has been offering Utahns an education in how to detect investment scams and other duplicitous deals too good to be true. This free event will host speakers including Governor Gary Herbert and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Public Affairs Director Michael Otterson.
The event this Wednesday looks to be the biggest event yet put on by the nonprofit association, which brings together community religious leaders, elected officials, law enforcement even former fraudsters to give Utahns a crash course on detecting bad investments, affinity-fraud schemes that target groups based on common associations like religion and other tricks of the shysterly trades. Registration is free, so register online now at the Fraud College Website here.
Then, check it out, Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. University of Utah, Olpin Union Ballroom, 200 S. Central Campus Drive.
