Posted // 2010-12-01 - Right at the tippy-top of the list of Slate’s 80 most influential octogenarians is Utah’s own LDS prophet, Thomas S. Monson.
The list of the 80 most influential movers and shakers included many famous names from the crotchety actor-turned-director Clint Eastwood (# 5), inveterate dirty old man and hero to millions Hugh Hefner (#27),and the “oracle from Omaha,” billionaire philanthropist and investor Warren Buffett (#3).
While making movies, money and skin-tastic publications will get you far, Slate gave the top position to Monson for “being regarded by the world’s more than 13 million Mormons as a prophet of God.”
