Leading the pack this Tuesday are efforts from Cate le Bon with Cyrk and The Big Pink with Future This. Click here to read reviews of both albums by City Weekly contributors.
Guided By Voices, Let’s Go Eat the Factory
In 2010, Robert Pollard reunited Guided by Voices for a tour, and, no surprise, recorded material soon followed. This album has 21 gems of lo-fi, garage rock that makes for a worth-the-wait follow-up to the band’s last album, released in 2004
Kathleen Edwards, Voyageur
Edwards has the gift of a beautiful voice and the ability to pen a well-crafted folk narrative -- definitely worth a listen.
Anthony Green, Beautiful Things
Beautiful Things is an experimental solo effort from the frontman of Circa Survive (with a little help from Gold Old War as the backing band). The album dabbles in genres from psych-rock to blues and back around again.
Howler, America Give Up
The debut from this Minneapolis four-piece adds little innovation to the rock & roll catalog, but is fun nonetheless. Check out the single “I Told You Once,” to be sure.
Also out this week: Ani Difranco’s Which Side Are You on and Bombay Bicycle Club’s Different Kind of Fix.
