Posted // 2011-11-22 - Who doesn’t love chocolate? But the chasm between run-of-the-mill grocery-store chocolate and fine artisan goodness is vast. And that’s where Matt Caputo drops some knowledge.
For this podcast, City Weekly spoke with Matt Caputo, marketing director at Tony Caputo’s Market (314 W. 300 South). Matt is a locavore aficionado and connoisseur of wine, cheese, chocolate and so on. He joined City Weekly to talk about the world of fine chocolate.
Caputo’s Market offers a slew of tasting classes, including an Intro to Fine Chocolate. The next class will be held Monday, Dec. 5 at 7:15 p.m., followed by more in 2012. Cost for tasting classes is $25. For those who attend and become impassioned with the art, there is a local chocolate society. Also, it’s worth checking out this article about Orem-based Amano Artisan Chocolate, who is making some of America’s best chocolate.
