What It's Like to Be Sushi

A young woman in a pay-per-plate sushi restaurant in Japan sends her camcorder for a ride on the conveyor belt. Merriment ensues.
If you've ever wondered what a sushi-go-round looks like from the POV of the sushi, now you know. It's amateur video brilliance. I love people's reactions to the camera: Some act cool; some are visibly annoyed; some are playful. I also love how, in Japan, people are too polite to grab an unattended camcorder and bolt.
News writer Ted McDonough summed it up: The video is hypnotic in the same way Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl is. Very little narrative, but lots of interesting, minor action.
