Tonight, Salt Lake Acting Company presents a special free theatrical reading, with a uniquely ironic twist: a play about Steve Jobs, made available for free download.
Mike Daisey's The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs is still playing in New York, but the playwright and his collaborator, director Jean-Michele, decided to create a transcript that they made available to anyone to download for royalty-free performance. It's a radical way to tell the story of the celebrated entrepreneur, in a play that was called the "best new play of the year" by The Washington Post.
Jason Bowcutt, Nicki Nixon and Robert Scott Smith perform the staged reading, directed by Alexandra Harbold, tonight (March 12) at 7 p.m. at Salt Lake Acting Company (168 W. 500 North). Admission is free; distribution of available tickets begins at 6 p.m.
