Though it may seem hard to believe as temperatures creep near the 90s again, it's already time to start thinking about strolling through the snowy January streets to see great independent cinema.
Beginning next Tuesday, Sept. 21, online registration begins for locals-only ticket package options for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, taking place Jan. 20 - 30. From that date through Oct. 13, individuals can register for a time slot to purchase one of the many ticket packages available only to those with a Utah driver's license or ID.
In addition to the options available in years past -- including the Locals Quick Pass, SLC/Ogden preferred ticket package and Film Lovers ticket package -- a new Midweek ticket package includes 10 tickets for screenings the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of festival week. Locals also have the first opportunity to purchase the Express "B" Pass (all festival screenings Jan. 26 - 30), the Classic "B" ticket package (20 screening and/or panel tickets Jan. 26 - 30 plus 2 Awards Party tickets) and the Discovery Package (10 tickets to screenings outside the Premiere category). Visit the festival Website for package prices and other details.
