Things seemed a little bit off as I tuned in my weekend sports radio. The voices on KJQS 1230 AM -- the KFNZ 1320 sister-station that provided ESPN Radio programming when it wasn't broadcasting Salt Lake Bees games -- weren't the same. And the station IDs soon made it clear that KJQS was now providing Fox Sports Radio programming. ---

Indeed, the over-crowed Salt Lake City sports-talk dial has gone topsy-turvy. Fox Sports now lives on KJQS. KALL 700 is the new home of ESPN Radio, with shows including "Mike & Mike in the Morning" and "The Herd with Colin Cowherd". The syndicated "Jim Rome Show," which had been on KALL for nearly a decade, is now on KFNZ 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. weekdays. Only 1280 The Zone remains the same in both its local lineup 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. and its after-hours Sporting News Radio affiliation.

And that's how you know there are too damned many sports talk radio stations locally.
