Today, People's Market founder Kyle LaMalfa announced a new program "designed to bring more fresh produce to market each Sunday." It's call the People Market Produce Program and it's aimed at small-scale farmers and urban gardeners. ---

For only $5, these small-scale growers can bring their produce to the People's Market. Got more heirloom tomatoes from your garden than you can use? Bring 'em to the People's Market, pay $5, and sell them. For Market shoppers, this should mean a greater variety of fresh produce to select from.%uFFFD

"We believe it's important to make fresh fruits and veggies available to all people," said LaMalfa. "There's no reason why local, small-scale growers with surpluses shouldn't have access to a successful market. We've always been a market for the people. This program, we believe, encourages further participation, engagement and access to great food by community members. We hope that it catches on quickly."

People's Market takes place each Sunday through October at the International Peace Gardens at 1000 S. 900 West.%uFFFD
