The Salt Lake City Arts Council announced the lineup for the 2013 Twilight Concert Series today, a followup to the series’ 25th anniversary that will please fans of many genres, from indie-rock to R&B.
In 2012, the once-free concert series began charging a $5 admission fee (read a point/counterpoint on it here) to maintain the high level of performers and to make the concert experience more enjoyable and manageable -- in 2011, concerts drew an average of 33,000 people at each show; in 2012, the series averaged 16,000 people per concert, according to a press release. Sometimes, the shows were great; other times, they were a mess. Here's hoping this year will be the best at Pioneer Park.
The Twilight Concert Series shows will be held on Thursday evenings in July and August, with gates opening at 5 and shows starting at 7 p.m.
Advanced season ticket sales for the 2013 Twilight Concert Series begin today at noon. Season tickets are sold at 24Tix.com. They are $35 for the nine concerts; pre-sale individual tickets can be bought for $5 at 24Tix.com beginning June 1 or at Graywhale Entertainment for $5 up to 5 p.m. the day of the show. You can also buy tickets at the gate for $5, cash only.
