Posted // 2012-07-11 - Park City had an incident last night, and it involved hula-hoops, tie-dye shirts, acoustic instruments, a mess of coolers and some very long jams.
String Cheese Incident, an improv-heavy jam band hailing from the great state of Colorado, came the mountain town and rocked out to their huge and loyal fan base. The fervent high-energy jams--especially Bill Nershi’s epic finger picking--marked the highlightof the night. SCI came out swinging and for a little less than four hours kept hippies' hips swinging in circles and the overall positive vibe rocking.

Michael Kang, SCI’s violinist and mandolin player, feeling very welcomed by a cheering crowd in Park City.

The gang starting out strong with "Come As You Are."

The man, the legend, Bill Nershi himself.

The crowd cheering to SCI’s first set.

Our “BYOB” cozy cooler enjoying its front-row spot.

And what do all outdoor jam band shows bring? Hula hoops and hippies! Darn tootin'.

Moseley and Kang starting to close out a very loose-and-deep first set.

It ain't easy being cheesy!

Some concert-goers enjoying a bit of set-break anonymity.

Set two opening up with "Round the Wheel."

Kang and Nershi crushing it.

And the encore begins with "Barstool"

SCI tearing up and covering Talking Heads' "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)."

"Round The Wheel." Honestly, there’s no better way to close out a SCI show.
