Sapa at 7th South & State is very good & showy place to take people. Down the street a bit, Rice is quite good. Sawadee on South Temple is very nice & Thai Garden is a little of-the-wall place in a strip mall on 9th East at 45th South with exceptional Tom Ka & Tom Yum
I like Little World, J. Wong's and Szechuan Garden. Also Pawitt's and Chanon Thai for Thai food. The Mandarin in Bountiful is quite nice too. And of course, Takashi, Kyoto and I Love Sushi for Japanese.
